New York requires at least 30 days’ notice (N.Y. Real Prop. Law § 226-c). 30/60/90-day tiers by length of occupancy: under 1 year = 30 days; 1–2 years = 60 days; more than 2 years = 90 days. The Good Cause Eviction Law (RPL Art. 6-A, eff. 4/20/2024) requires good cause for non-renewal of covered units in NYC and opted-in municipalities.
